OAKLAND — Months after he was partially acquitted, a Pittsburg man has accepted a manslaughter plea deal and 22-year prison term in the 2016 shooting death of a teen girl, court records show.Darion Brown, 29, pleaded no contest to manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Alexis Leann Ervin. The Oakley girl was shot a half-dozen times a little before 7 a.m. on June 8, 2016, behind the Rainbow Recreation Center, 5800 International Blvd. in East Oakland. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped a murder charge against him.Brown went on trial last April, where he was acquitted of first-degree murder. But jurors couldn’t reach a verdict on the lesser offenses, including second-degree murder and manslaughter.The plea deal was finalized at an Aug. 17 court hearing, records show. Brown has not yet been transferred to state prison. SAN JOSE — The San Jose drug dealer that targeted his sale of fentanyl-laced pills at Los Gatos High School students will be sentenced to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to all charges last week, according to prosecutors.Simon Armendariz, 23, who went by the nicknames of “Risky” and “Madman,” sold drugs to teenagers in downtown Los Gatos, the parking lots of Los Gatos High and a nearby church, authorities said. (KRON) -- A person was robbed by two armed individuals last week in the 1700 block of International Boulevard, according to the Oakland Police Department.On Aug. 16, just before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area and located a victim suffering from injuries sustained during an armed robbery. The victim was transported to a local hospital, police said. The suspects pistol whipped and robbed the victim of their belongings. (KRON) -- A dog sustained severe injuries after its owner drove under the influence causing a solo vehicle crash Thursday on Stanley Boulevard, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.At around 1:15 a.m., officers located the driver and her dog, who had significant injuries to its face and legs. A relative of the woman took the injured dog from its owner for medical treatment, police said.
