ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Capital Strawberry and Wine Festival is coming to the Altamont Fairgrounds on June 3 and 4. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. (NEWS10) -- Motorists should watch for lane reductions and flaggers on U.S. Route 9 on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Road milling and drainage work will be done between Latham Circle and Coliseum Drive. CHARLES, Mo. - The City of St. Charles has officially filed a lawsuit against Ameren Missouri over water contamination and damages linked to the city’s Elm Point Wellfield.City officials announced the intent to file a lawsuit against Ameren Missouri in March. Out of seven water wells powered through the wellfield, only one remains currently operational. “Today is the culmination of many months of testing, evaluation, public outreach and tough decisions to ensure the City’s water is safe," said St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer. ST. LOUIS – Two puppies are recovering after being abandoned in a dumpster in downtown St. Louis, the Humane Society of Missouri said.A good Samaritan contacted the HSMO on Tuesday. She'd heard barking from a dumpster along 9th Street, lifted the lid, and saw two small dogs. She borrowed a cell phone to report the incident to the HSMO.A member of the Animal Cruelty Task Force responded. By the time that person arrived, the good Samaritan had removed the puppies from the dumpster. The temperature was 77°, but was worse inside the metal container.The dogs were not microchipped. ST. LOUIS - A barge in the Mississippi River struck Eads Bridge late Wednesday morning, according to MetroLink officials. The collision happened just before the noon hour. People are encouraged to avoid the bridge and surrounding area for the time being. As of early Wednesday afternoon, no injuries have been reported from the situation. LOUIS, Ill. - A Marissa, Illinois, man appeared in federal court on Wednesday to be arraigned for possession of a homemade bomb.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois said Jim Lanier, 49, made a pipe bomb with the intent of blowing up his wife's vehicle on April 29, and then later admitted to lighting the bomb and throwing it at people who confronted him. MILLER COUNTY, Mo. - A Belleville man died Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash along a rural Missouri highway. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has reports that James Gillispie, 76, died in the crash. A 68-year-old woman riding on the motorcycle was also hurt in the crash.The collision happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Missouri Route 42 near Castle Road. Who is Sai Kandula?
