CHP: DUI arrest for San Jose driver who plunged off Santa Cruz cliff SANTA CRUZ — A San Jose motorist was seriously injured and then later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after going off a cliff and plunging a pickup truck into the ocean off the Santa Cruz shoreline, the California Highway Patrol said.The crash occurred early Sunday morning along East Cliff Drive, according to a tweet by the CHP Santa Cruz area field office.Photos posted by the CHP show that the white full-sized pickup truck ended up in the water near Pleasure Point Park, about three miles east of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
