California water officials were set to trek up to Echo Summit south of Lake Tahoe on Monday for a highly anticipated annual snowpack measurement — and this year, it could be like a scene out of the 1975 movie “Jaws.”They’ll — probably — need a bigger ruler. The results could topple a record set more than half a century ago.A colossal pounding of snowfall this winter in the Sierra Nevada has produced incredible precipitation numbers for the region, wiped away drought conditions across most of the state and drawn out the ski season until the summertime for some Tahoe resorts. The nonstop slashing of storms has also wrought destruction in some parts of the Bay Area, where high winds and heavy rain have toppled trees and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage. But for those keeping a close eye on the white fluffy stuff coming down from the sky this winter — the state says snowpack is at 236% of normal this time of year — the weathe...Robert, Moncada power White Sox past Astros 6-3

It was his 16th career multi-homer game.“Obviously, you want to start off well and it’s really early, but I wanted to help my team and I felt like I wasn’t contributing as much as I wanted to the first couple of games, but it’s good to have a good day today,” Gallo said. “We’ve been working a lot and even worked after the game for like 30 to 45 minutes yesterday with all the hitting coaches. I’ve been feeling pretty good, so hopeful keep that going.”After failing to score in the first two games of the season, the Royals finally got a run in the second inning on Edward Olivares’ homer....El gobierno de Italia busca penalizar el uso de palabras en inglés

ROME (AP) — If this was just the antipasto, Napoli should be concerned about what AC Milan will serve up for the main course. In the first of three matchups between Milan and Napoli this month, the defending Serie A champion routed this season’s runaway leader 4-0 on Sunday ahead of two more clashes in the Champions League quarterfinals.Rafael Leão scored twice and Brahim Diaz set up one goal and scored another to hand Napoli its heaviest defeat of what otherwise has been an extraordinary season.“We’re happy with the performance but it’s just one game,” Milan coach Stefano Pioli said. “Tonight’s result has nothing to do with the Champions League games, because that’s a different competition. That will be a very balanced contest.”Napoli’s only other losses in the Italian league this season both came by scores of 1-0, to Inter Milan in January and to Lazio a month ago.Napoli was also beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in the final match of the Champions League group phase but that loss came after...El Paso County orders mandatory evacuation for wildland fire
