Eurostat is pleased to announce that another peer review report within the third round of European Statistical System (ESS) peer reviews — the peer review report on Croatia — is now publicly available on Eurostat’s dedicated web page and on the web page of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. A group of Europe’s most eminent scientists, lawyers, businesspeople, cultural figures and other highly successful individuals in their chosen fields have signed a letter to High Representative Josep Borrell, to 14 other vice presidents and representative MEPs of The Left, Verts/ALE, Renew, S&D, PPE and ECR groups in the European Parliament. “Don’t you think men have any redeeming qualities at all?” I asked Wendy, my club’s ardent feminist.“Men are like copiers,” Wendy said tersely, “good for reproduction and little else.”I know that Wendy has no respect for Cy the Cynic. The two are adversaries even when they cut as partners in penny games. Wendy and Cy were today’s East-West, and against six hearts, Cy led the nine of diamonds.
