PETALUMA – A jury on Tuesday convicted a 29-year-old Concord man of the first-degree murder of a 19-year-old man at a Petaluma mall in 2019, according to prosecutors.David Kyle Lubkin faces up to 50 years to life in state prison when he is sentenced later this summer, the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.According to prosecutors, Lubkin met the victim, Ezequiel Garcia, at the Petaluma Outlets on Sept. 28, 2019, under the guise of purchasing a gold necklace off Craigslist. When Garcia drove up in his vehicle, Lubkin confronted him about another necklace he sold to him several days earlier, the district attorney’s office said.Lubkin pulled a gun from his waistband and fired three shots as Garcia drove away, according to prosecutors. (KRON) -- A Sunnyvale man was arrested earlier this month for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a girl who was not yet a teenager, according to the Mountain View Police Department. Officers with Mountain View PD performed a routine traffic stop on May 11 at around 7:30 a.m.A silver Ford sedan was stopped for numerous vehicle code violations, police said. Upon approaching the car, officers noticed that the man driving appeared nervous. There was also a young girl in the car. (KRON) -- A juvenile who burglarized a house in Hercules was nabbed after he stole a fancy watch, $30,000 in cash, and briefly escaped using an Uber driver, according to the Hercules Police Department. The burglary happened around 6:25 a.m. Sunday at a home on Finch Court. A victim called 911 and told dispatchers that a man had broken down his back door and entered the house. "The victim fled the residence through the front door and ran to his neighbor's home. Surveillance at the residence showed a (burglar) wearing a blue jacket, black sweatpants, and a gray shirt wrapped around his face, (who) forced entry by shattering the rear sliding glass door," HPD wrote. Officers established a perimeter around the house with assistance from the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, Pinole Police Department, and a Richmond Police Department K-9 unit. (KRON) -- A Santa Cruz beach was evacuated on Memorial Day after shots rang out, the Santa Cruz Police Department said. Two people were arrested in connection with the shooting, and nobody was injured. SCPD was called to Cowell Beach, a popular surf spot next to Municipal Wharf and near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, at 6:10 p.m. The report said two people were shooting a handgun near the west end of the beach. Man who allegedly killed 16-year-old at Livermore Taco Bell extradited from Mexico, arrested Officers saw the two men hiding behind rocks at the end of the beach, police said. The officers evacuated the area, and both men were detained without incident. An SCPD investigation revealed that the two men were shooting at an empty wine bottle that they had drank earlier. HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS, Colo. (KDVR) — The search is ongoing for a kayaker who went missing over the weekend.Ari Harms was last seen on Sunday, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office. He's described as a white man in his 30s.The host at the Pioneer Park campground reported Monday afternoon that the camper's vehicle was still on site beyond the scheduled checkout. When deputies responded, they learned fellow campers last saw the man on Sunday, when he went into the Colorado River with an inflatable kayak.
