Before Wolves executive Tim Connelly began his rare pre-postseason news conference hours before Game 1 between his new team and his old one, he stopped to engage a handful of media members who’d covered him before he left last offseason to Minnesota.Back in Denver where he’d established himself as one of the top talent evaluators in the league, Connelly admitted Sunday night was going to be “weird” for him. Perhaps even more so for his family, who’d trekked from Minnesota back to Denver in anticipation of this No. 1 vs. No. 8 series. The Timberwolves were scheduled to hold a shootaround roughly 30 minutes before Denver’s on Sunday morning, but when Connelly’s news conference ran late, and overlapped with the Nuggets’ time slot, no local reporters was there. The Nuggets weren’t enthused with the mix-up.Asked about his connections and relationships with the Nuggets’ organization, Connelly said there hadn’t been much trash talk between him and Denver’s personnel.“Nah, not really, friend...

Coachella Highlights, Part 2: On the way into the festival in the morning, we heard some people discussing who they were looking forward to checking out. Blackpink was not on that list. “Respect to the music, but it’s just not me,” said that guy. Apparently, he was in the minority. The crowd was simply ecstatic to see Blackpink on Saturday evening, and so they should be. The South Korean pop band have performed at Coachella before but this was the year that they truly arrived. They’re big league, top of their game, and other relative and appropriate superlatives. The light show was spectacular, the songs super-catchy — it was just a joy to behold. The early airborne part of that light show was provided by SKYMAGIC, which saw 500 drones create magic (pictured above). “The 8-minute display opened with a celebration of Coachella favorites from the past twenty years, before transitioning into the world of BLACKPINK, as the global sensation arrived on th...

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The challenge is familiar for the Carolina Hurricanes entering the Stanley Cup playoffs. They’ve established themselves as perennial playoff team, one that has claimed three straight division titles. But they’re again working to turn a strong regular-season run into the deep postseason push that has eluded them of late, starting with a first-round series against the New York Islanders.Game 1 of the best-of-7 series is Monday night.“We’re not looking to just make it past the first or second round, or just have a little bit of success,” Carolina forward Seth Jarvis said. “We want to win the whole thing. I think that’s everyone’s kind of mindset in this group, that we have a group to go deep and a group that wants to make some noise.”There’s been relatively little to criticize in Carolina’s five-year playoff run, the first since the former Hartford Whalers relocated to North Carolina in 1997. They finished third in the league standings...

(CNN) — “El Fantasma de la Ópera” no es solo un ícono de Broadway, es un gigante cultural.Está la partitura de órgano de Andrew Lloyd Webber, decorados suntuosos y disfraces elaborados.
