If you were reminiscing about the 2015 Toronto Blue Jays and wondered what one Canadian baseball player on that team was up to today, now you have an answer.Former Blue Jays outfielder and Mississauga native Dalton Pompey, who played parts of four seasons in Toronto, was photographed as a member of the Hamilton Police Service on Friday.Pompey, 30, retired from pro baseball in 2022 and pursued a career in emergency services. Previously, he was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 16th round of the 2010 draft and moved his way up the system, making his MLB debut in 2014.In all, Pompey played 64 games with the Blue Jays and hit .221/.289/.372, with three home runs, 10 RBIs and eight stolen bases. CHICAGO — For the second time before the Major League Baseball trade deadline, the White Sox are trading a pair of pitchers together as they continue to sell in the midst of a disappointing season.Once again, they're making a deal with a team in California. Per reports from Bob Nightengale of USA Today and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the White Sox have traded starting pitcher Lance Lynn and reliever Joe Kelly to the Dodgers. ST. LOUIS - A man arrested Thursday in a St. Louis child sex crime case now faces criminal charges, and police say he is also linked to a second victim. Prosecutors have charged Osmani Haji Gul, 34, with first-degree sodomy, sexual misconduct, attempted statutory sodomy and four-degree assault in connection with two alleged incidents. She says an Uber stranded her, then things really got weird Police say the crime first under investigation occurred July 23 in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood. Investigators say the victim, a 6-year-old boy, was riding his bicycle when a man walked up to the child, snatched him off the bike, and took the boy to a nearby vacant residence and sexually assaulted him. ST. CHARLES -- A truck driver died after a fatal crash on I-70 early Friday morning. He has been identified by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as James Melton, 36, of Wentzville, Missouri.A semi truck driver was stopping because of traffic congestion in a construction zone on westbound I-70 at around 12:30 a.m. Friday. Melton was driving a Dodge Ram pickup and failed to see the semi slow down. It slammed into the back of the truck's trailer and caught fire.Melton was pronounced dead at the scene.Latest news
