CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday criticized Hong Kong authorities over their pursuit of two pro-democracy activists who live in Australia.Hong Kong’s Chief Executive John Lee said Tuesday that eight pro-democracy activists who now live in the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia will be pursued for life for alleged national security offenses, dismissing criticism that the move to have them arrested was a dangerous precedent.Albanese said his government was concerned and disappointed by Hong Kong authorities issuing arrest warrants for Australian citizen Kevin Yam and Australian permanent resident Ted Hui.“I am of course disappointed. I’ve said we’ll cooperate with China where we can. But we will disagree where we must. SAGUENAY, Que. — Quebec provincial police say two bodies have been found by divers near the site of one of the landslides in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region triggered Saturday by a “phenomenal” rainfall that washed away roads and caused flooding.Police said divers found the two bodies early Tuesday evening, after three people were caught in a landslide on Saturday in Rivière-Éternité, Que., about 260 kilometres northeast of Quebec City. HARVEY, Ill. -- Harvey police are investigating a shooting that sent multiple people to the hospital on the evening of Tuesday, July 4.According to reports, officers responded to the Popeyes near the intersection 147th Street and Halsted Street in Harvey on reports of a shooting just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday. TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — On Tuesday night, a dive team recovered the body of a child who fell off a boat in Lake Travis Monday afternoon and didn't resurface, Travis County Sheriff's Office tells KXAN.The 8-year-old boy went missing at around 2 p.m. Monday, the Travis County ESD 1 shift commander told KXAN. The boy was not wearing a life jacket at the time.The incident happened in the Cow Creek Arm of Lake Travis, Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) wrote on Twitter. Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released body-worn camera footage of a disturbing use of force incident in Lancaster that, according to a late Monday night announcement by the department, is currently under investigation. The confrontation happened on June 24 when deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded to the parking lot of a WinCo Foods store, located at 740 W. Police are searching for the driver of an SUV that hit and killed a 36-year-old man igniting fireworks in the street in Wilmington Monday night and then fled the scene. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene, located at 710 N. Fries Avenue, near a Food 4 Less grocery store, at around 9:10 p.m. on reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian, police told KTLA. The victim, identified by friends at Juan Aeryan, was lighting fireworks in the street when he was struck by an SUV drive described only as a female Hispanic, police confirmed. Authorities said the force of the impact threw the 36-year-old several hundred feet where he came to a stop partially underneath another vehicle leaving the shopping center parking lot.
