Unseasonably rainy weather pelted Lake Tahoe over Labor Day weekend during one of the region’s most popular times for tourists, and forecasters predicted a significant dip in temperatures at the beginning of the week.Near-freezing temperatures were in the forecast for Monday morning, which Mark Deutschendorf, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Reno station, said “has happened [before], but it’s still well below average.”Tourists who were planning to soak up the sun one last time before summer ends were set to wake up to temperatures near the 30s and 40s Monday morning.Nearly an inch of rain fell in Tahoe on Friday and Saturday, and the cool, cloudy weather continued on Sunday, with showers and potentially a thunderstorm expected through the night. The weather came from a low-pressure system originating in British Columbia that made its way down to the region. This weekend is the polar opposite to last year’s heat wave at Lake Tahoe, Deutschendorf said. Kylian Mbappé scores 2 goals as PSG routs Lyon 4-1 in French league

PARIS (AP) — Kylian Mbappé’s two goals put him top of the French league’s scoring charts as Paris Saint-Germain won 4-1 at struggling Lyon on Sunday for its biggest success of the season under new coach Luis Enrique. The glossy-looking result should not disguise the poor quality of defending champion PSG’s opponent. PSG’s first goal was a carelessly conceded penalty, two were counterattacks and the other was a goalmouth scramble. All of PSG’s goals came in the first half against a dismal Lyon side. Captain Corentin Tolisso had complained about his team’s performance last weekend, but failed to control a pass from his own goalkeeper and then clumsily hacked down PSG’s Manuel Ugarte for a clear penalty. Mbappé struck it cleanly down the middle past Portugal goalkeeper Anthony Lopes in the fourth minute, even though Lopes got a leg to it. After right back Achraf Hakimi bundled in a cross that Lyon’s defense failed to deal with in the 20th, attack...
