A marathon game for Gophers softball team ended in a whopping 13 innings on Friday night in Seattle, Wash.Though the Gophers headed into the NCAA Tournament extremely confident in their abilities to make a run, they fell in an incredible matchup that will go down in history regardless of the winner.After battling tooth and nail in the opener of the NCAA Regional, the Gophers suffered a disheartening 5-4 loss. They will now have to beat either host Washington or Northern Colorado in order to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.It was a back-and-forth contest for both teams with Gophers ace Autumn Pease getting the start, and junior Jackie Hambrick and freshman Sydney Schwartz also seeing time in the pitcher’s circle.With their backs against the wall in extra innings, Gopher star centerfielder Natalie DenHartog crushed a solo home run hope alive. Coming off a disappointing 14-22 season in 2022, the new-look Minnesota Lynx are a team in transition, and head coach Cheryl Reeve knows there will be some rough stretches for her team this season. COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Thursday night left residents of Colonie hesitant to use their water. Colonie Town Supervisor, Peter Crummey, says the water superintendent put the advisory in effect as a precaution for health.Thursday, National Grid was doing planned work to high voltage lines in the area of the Mohawk View Water Treatment Plant, which Crummey says may have caused pressure surges. The pressure relief valve inside the plant was opened and failed to close, flooding the basement of the building. After pumping the water out, testing began. ST. LOUIS - Family members of U.S. Army First Lt. Melvin Meyer are preparing for his funeral. The remains of the WWII veteran returned to St. Louis Friday night. He had been missing in action for nearly 80 years. Meyer was part of a crew that led an air raid over Germany in 1944. Their plane was struck and crashed. Survivors became prisoners of war. Meyer was not located. The crash site was not discovered again until 2012. Excavation efforts eventually led to the discovery of Meyer’s crucifix, rosary, wallet, and other personal items. His identification was confirmed through DNA testing, dental records, and other means. “We’re just so happy to have him home,” said Nedra Orf, Meyer’s great-niece. “It is very emotional." A gas explosion at the Lake Elsinore minor league baseball stadium sent two people to the hospital on Friday afternoon.Authorities received reports of the explosion at Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium, or Storm Stadium, around 4:21 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department and Cal Fire.Two people were burned and were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.The stadium is home to the Lake Elsinore Storm, a Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres.The stadium was evacuated and the Storm's game against the Inland Empire 66ers on Friday night was postponed.“Due to an incident at the stadium, today and tomorrow’s game will be postponed until further notice,” the team announced on Twitter.The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Local gas companies were notified and responded to the scene. Around 6:17 p.m., the gas leak was contained. On the 15th premiere anniversary of its previous installment at the Cannes Film Festival, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” premiered at the same film festival and the first reviews are in.
